Thanks to all for publishing ODIA websites...

Dear friends

Now there are a handful of website which are published in ODIA online thanks to the ever developping technology which has made this a posiblility, but I am really thankful to everyone who has started a site in ODIA. Way back in the nineteen nineties I published for the first time a website on Lord Jagannath in ODIA and it got quite good responce. But at the time the cost of web server was way too high for a student like me and so I had hosted my site in a freewebsite server.

Due to my busy schedule and beginning of job career in a small village in Subarnapur district I could not keep in touch with the website and I lost all the data and the books and notes which I had prepared for the site also lost due to a accident. That was my first stint at publishing a website on Jagannath.

Than in 2006 I first published the only online e-Magazine in ODIA called "Aahwaan" and passing through many free hosts finally got my own website at http://www.aahwaan.com and is still running well. Every month I published a magazine not less than 30 pages of complete odia content with stories, poems and every other categories of articles one would love to read.

Now there are many people who are also publishing e-Magazines in Odia and I am glad it has given a boost to the odia writers too.

When last time I contacted some Odia writers they were happy to offer me help as they have also found a new place to showcase their talents and as publishing books still remains a difficult task involving not only a lot of money and time but also exercise of the brain the selling of the books is a bigger problem too, with online publication there is nothing like that, of course there is least chance that any manuscript can be sold or bought online, but yes the publicity is wide spread.

Please continue to publish Odia websites as this will help us in promoting our land and language in overseas areas too.
