Age of Satyabadi
Much respected personality of Orissan culture and history, Utkalmani Gopabandhu Das (1877-1928) has founded a school at a village Satyabadi near Sakhigopal of Orissa and an idealstic literary movement influenced the writers of this age. No doubt, Gopabandhu Das was the famous figure of this movement associated by other four writers like Godabarisha Mishra, Nilakantha Dash, Harihara Acharya and Krupasinshu. They are also known as Panchasakhas in comparison with the Age of Panchasakhas of the tradition. The writers of this age are mostly critics, essayists and poets. Godabarisha Mohapatra, Chintamani Das,Kuntala-Kumari Sabat are some of the renowned names of this age.The contribution of Chintamani Das in enriching Satyabadi literature is unparalleled. Chintamani Das,a noted academician has written biographies on all the 'Panchasakhas' of Satyabadi where he has documented the life history of illustrious personalities of Satyabadi namely Pandit Gopabandhu Das, Acharya Harihara, Pandit Godabarish, Krupasindhu and Nilakantha Das. Chintamani Das was bestowed with the Sahitya Akademi Samman in 1970 for his invaluable contribution to Oriya literature.Some of his well-known literary works are 'Manishi Nilakantha', ' Bhala Manisa Hua', ' Usha', ' Barabati', ' Byasakabi Fakiramohan' .
Sudhir Kumar Das, a distinguished academician and essayist of repute has written extensively on Jagannath Sanskruti and Satyabadi Yuga. He has served as the Principal of Utkalmani Gopabandhu Smruti Mahavidyalaya, Sakhigopal and retired as the Principal of Rajendra College, Balangir in 2001. Writing in both Oriya and English, he has enriched the Oriya literature through his thought-provoking essays on Acharya Harihara, Pandit Gopabandhu Das and different facets of Jagannath culture. A popular orator from Puri, Sudhir Kumar Das has been felicitated on numerous occasions.

Will the satyabadi yuga again come back? In those days honesty & truthfulness were present every where.which is now a dream.
