Now the odisha govt is preparing Adhara card for all.What are these Adhara cards? how will they help us?

Are these some new types of ration-cards?

Yes,i think the adhara card must be a new type of card,which will act as a ration card aswelluu.

have you guys received the Adhar card?

Aadhar Cards are the biometric identification cards being provided under UID (Unique ID) program.
Your basic information as well as finger prints will be electronically stored in the card and this can be used everywhere for identification purposes.
Have they started distributing the cards in Odisha yet?

I want to get an Adhara card. Where should I apply for it?

You can apply for the Adhara card at any post office. They will give a form, fill the form & affix the xerox copy of your voter Id card & the necessary documents, submit them. They will take your photo, finger tips etc.Then after some days you will get your Adhara card by post. Here you will get the card free of cost. Some banks also providing this form by taking Rs 10/20. They can also give you this card.

There is a point written in the adhar card form, that the people can get these cards free of cost. Neither any bank/post office nor any other institution can demand money from the people to giive these cards.

The process of getting Adhara card has not started yet in rural areas.
