Solar parks will be developed in Odisha
Odisha govt. has selected three sites namely Rengali, Narela and Rayagada to develop solar parks.
Solar panels( of 5MW generation capacity) will be put in 126 buildings in the areas of Cuttack and Bhubaneswar. The solar park will be jointly developed by the state and central govt having capacity of 500 MW.This amount of energy will be sufficient to the needs of consumers.
The MNRE(Union Ministry of New and Renewable Energy) asked the Odisha government to identify the sites and proceed to appoint PSU for setting up a UMSPP(ultra-mega solar power project)/ solar park in the state.
