Today( Monday, 22th Dec 2014), the Odisha government reduced bus fare across the state by 2 paise/ km. Due to fall in diesel price, the Technical Advisory Committee of the dept reduced the of bus fares.
Now people will have to pay 60 paise per km in ordinary buses and 63 paise in Express buses, 83 paise in deluxe and Rs 1.02 in deluxe A/C buses .

Now tax has been increased on petrol and diesel. Bus fares will rise again.

Odisha Government has reduced Bus fares through the automatic fare adjustment mechanism.The fares of ordinary and express buses have been reduced by 1 paise per kilometer and by 2 paise per kilometer for deluxe and AC deluxe buses. As per the new price, the fare for ordinary buses has come down to 58 paise per kilomter, express buses from 62 paise to 61 paise, deluxe buses from 82 paise to 80 paise and AC deluxe buses from Rs 1.03 to Rs 1.01 paise per km.
