Odisha’s Bhubaneswar and Rourkela could enter in Smart City list.Some states got more than 1o cities as smart cities while Itanagar, Patna, Shimla, Bengaluru, Daman, Thiruvananthapuram, Puducherry, Gangtok and Kolkata like advanced cities failed to be selected in the smart city list

Only Bhubaneswar could enter in smart city list not Rourkela.

Today, the centre announced the names of first twenty cities to be developed as smart Cities. Bhubaneswar‬ got top ranks no.1 among all the 98 competing cities of India in the smart city challenge. The list of selected twenty cities are Bhubaneswar, Pune, Jaipur, Surat, Kochi, Ahmedabad, Jabalpur, Visakhapatnam, Solapur, Dhavangiri, Indore, the New Delhi area, Coimbatore, Kakinada, Belgaum, Udaipur, Guwahati, Chennai, Ludhiana and Bhopal.

Odisha'll take the project smart city Bhubaneswar on a mission mode.
The Odisha govt has decided to take the project of changing Bhubaneswar into a smart city on a mission mode. Focus will be given on the drainage system, sewerage system, electricity supply, transportation system, internet connectivity.

What is a smart city? What should be the key features of a smart city?

Only Bhubaneswar can be the smart city.

Singapore will give training to Odisha officials on Smart City project.
Our state government is planning to take help from Singapore on Smart City project. It seems that Singapore-based agencies will give technical support and training to the Odisha officials involved in the smart city project.
