Today, fourteen towns of Odisha record 40 deg Celsius or above temperature. According to the Met department forecast, this excess heat wave condition will continue for a week.

On Monday, 11th April 2016, the temperature at Bhubaneswar is 45.7 degree Celsius. It is the highest temperature recorded this year till today.

Due to heat wave all the schools in Odisha will remain closed upto 20th April.
The Special Relief Commissioner announced to close all the schools in Odisha till 20th April due to heat wave.
