Our chief minister, Mr. Naveen Patnaik has anounced a lots of popular scheme for the BPL people, labourers, women, girls( Biju kanyaratna yojana etc), ST and SC students( cycles, free education in english medium schools, asrama schools Adarsha bidyalaya with stipend and many more). Now he has anounced an unique scheme 'KHUSHI' for school girls. Under the scheme 'KHUSHI', the state govt. will provide free sanitary napkins to school girls of classes VI to XII in all government and government-aided schools. The government will also provide napkins to women in rural areas at subsidized rates( a packet containing 6 sanitary pads at a cost of Rupees six only) through ASHA workers.
