In the last month(chaitra),the sahijatra was celebrated in Puri.
Sahi Yatra is a religious festival.It is celebrated in Puri. This festival begins on Ram Navami day and fortnight-long celebrated. Sahi Yatra is a kind of folk drama and the most attractive feature is the procession which starts in the narrow lanes of each Sahi and at last comes to the grand road of puri. Decorated elephants, horses,, flame torches and music bands playing drumss, trumpets and conch shells, flag bearers Take part in this procession..
Harachandi Sahi, Baseli Sahi, Markandeswara Sahi, Dolomandapa Sahi, Matimandapa Sahi, Bali Sahi and Gaudabada Sahi take parts in the all events.
