SHIVRATRI
Re: SHIVRATRI
I always go to temple on the occasion of Mahashivratri.
Mahashivaratri- In this day people worship lord Shiva.
From the very morning people reach at temples with milk and coconut on their hands.
They all offer these to the god.
And the priest finishes the task of Rudrabhisek of lord Shiva.
And finally by offering many sorts of sweets to the lord the function is brought to an end
It is always advised by the priests that on this day people should sleep at late nights and they should remain alert till late night. And for that reason the other name of this function is also jagara

Re: SHIVRATRI
You must have gone to the Lingaraj temple,Kedargauri temple etc of bbsr.I had gone there in 1996 with my uncle. My uncle has identified a peppal plant,(of very small height ,of about 2feet)and had told that this plant had not grown from years.I can't remember, exactly it was in which temple.
can anyone reply here,it is really true or not.
