Devasnana Purnima will be observed on 9th June 2017( Friday).This festival is also known as Snana Yatra. It is one of the oldest festivals and is mainly of Lord Jagannath. According to the Skanda Purana, King Indradyumna had observed this bathing ceremony when he installed the wooden deities here. In Puri,this festival is celebrated as a grand celebration. Thousands of national and international visitors come here to be a part of this occasion.Simultaneously this festival is celebrated in all other Jagannath temples of Odisha.

Today, I watched the live telecast of Jagannath Snanajatra on Odia tv channel. It is a great festival. I came to know so many new things about the deties. Thanks to the narrater and commentator of these programes.
