What are the places to see in Orissa?
I am from Mizoram and am planning to visit Orissa in Jan 2007

Hi,

If you are planning for a short visit you can visit Puri Jagannath Temple, the Sun Temple at Konark and all places nearby. There are lots more if you can spend some 3 days and more and interested to travel more inside Orissa. But do try to be accompanied by an Oriya friend if possible.

Tell ur travel plan and the members here can give a quick suggestion.(I am on vacation )

Jagannath Puri is known in various names, one of them is Shree khetra. It is also known as Nilachala, Nilagiri, Niladri, Purusottam Khetra, Srikhetra and Sankha Khetra. I spent 25 years in Puri and Puri is one of the top tourist destination of Orissa. I have not much idea about other tourist destinations of orissa. If I find any link or info I will definitely let you know.

You must stay at the May Fair Hotel in Bhuvaneshwar. It's a lovely place to stay in if you are going with family. And the Cuttack -the old capital of Orissa Rourkela - known for its steel and fertilizer plants. Both are awesome!!! Enjoy!!!
