We have visited LORD JAGANNATH in new year.
We've gone to PURI on 1st jan 2011.
i'm writing my experience.
There was much rush.
Lacs of people are crowded there.
A long que(of about 1 km long)had created in front of the temple.
Every shop (the shoe stand, the sweet stall, the abadha and the puri pandas)had hiked their price to 4times of the actual price.
2teaspoonful ( khiri) was selling at Rs.10.00,
50gm cooked rice and 15 gm dal were selling at Rs 100.
All are good merchants in Jagannath dham.
The foods of kids(like biscuits, other snacks, cerelac, milk powder)are not available in the campus of temple.
In my view there must be some stalls availing these nesessary things for kids in the campus.
Any way,we could visit LORD JAGANNATH,IT IS HIS BLESSING.

Re: VISIT LORD JAGANNATH IN NEW YEAR
corruption everywhere.
we went to Birla Temple where it is mentioned everywhere not to pay for anything.
in the shoe stand, its written in BIG letters "SHOE STAND IS FREE. DO NOT PAY MONEY"
Still the attendants secretly askd some people to give them some tip. pathetic

Dear mrs_ ranu,
I am feeling your trouble by reading your article.
generally in the new year ,Puri becomes crowded.
In my point of view, again come to Puri in another day(not in a function day) and enjoy with your family.
