Tourists can't visit Bhitarkanika till 31st July

Post by Akhill »

Tourists can't visit Bhitarkanika till 31st July. The Bhitarkanika National Park (Kendrapara district) will remain closed for tourists from today to July 31 due to the nesting season of crocodiles. The crocodiles become violent during the nesting season, so it is better to stay away from these wild animals.

In the mid of April, the forest department had lifted the ban on night stay of tourists at the national park, which was imposed following attack by miscreants on forest officials in the last January. The department has now made compulsory for visitors and tourists to carry proof of identity necessary for securing an entry permit.

Why the people visit Bhitarkanika? I can't find any interesting thing to watch at that jungle. There are so many other beutiful tourist places in our state. I like to visit the coastal districts of Odisha. There are so many places to visit in Puri, BBSR, Chandipur, Gopalpur, Chillika, Konark and many more. There are also good accommodation facility at those places.
