It is a good news for the tourism dept of Odisha that, Odisha Tourism has got the ‘Best Pilgrimage Tourism Destination Award’ 2013. This award was given to Odisha Tourism in a glittering ceremony by the tourism magazine 'Today's Traveller' at The Taj Hotel in New Delhi on Aug 30, 2013. Odisha Tourism, Director, Manoranjan Patnaik has received the award and said that , Odisha got it because it has preserved the holy pilgrimage cities like Puri, Konark, Bhubaneswar, as well as the other destination like Maa Tarini Temple in Keonjhar, Maa Tara Tarini in Ganjam, Sabara Shrrekhetra in Koraput.

This award was based only on the points of fair and ethical tourism, preservation of historic & cultural sites, standard of safety etc. The Odisha Tourism possess all these. So, it got the award.
