Dont drink raw water. DRINK boiled and filtered water only.

DONT eat at roadside hotels.

DONT eat uncooked or less cooked food.

PEEL fruits before eating and peel the fruits yourself.

CARRY enough ORS packets with you and also medicines like CIPROFLOXACIN / AZITHROMYCIN / TETRACYCLIN with you.

Clean hands before eating. Dont visit affecred areas without medical team.

CHOLERA vaccine (ORAL) is available too. If you are fearing contamination take the vaccine. Two doses at two weeks interval costs something about six hundred rupees only.

CHOLERA is fatal if we dont rehydrate (give water / ors to recover the fluid loss due to diarrhoea) a patient.

So if any patient shows symptoms of loose motion without waiting for medicines start feeding him as much of ORS as possible.

if a patients condition does not improve despite ORS therapy take hin to the nearest hospital for intravenous RINGER LACTATE treatment.
