In the 3 government medical college Hospitals of Odisha, 318 teaching posts are lying vacant. All in the three medical colleges (SCB Medical College and Hospital at Cuttack, the MKCG Medical College and Hospital at Brahmapur and the VSS Medical College and Hospital at Burla) 340 staff nurses post and 761 Group-D posts are lying vacant. In the SCB, 16 Professor posts, 28 Associate Professors and 102 Assistant Professor posts are lying vacant. The college has 781 staff nurses(sanctioned strength of 910 ) and 690 Group-D employees(sanctioned strength of 1,109 ).
Similarly in the MKCG, 4 Professor posts are lying vacant out of 36 sanctioned posts. the college has 64 Associate Professors(in place of 75) and 56 Assistant Professors( in place of 143). The college has 402 staff nurses and 247 Group-D employees (out of a sanctioned strength of 601 and 455 ).
In the VSS, 5 Professor posts are lying vacant(out of a sanctioned posts of 36), 7 posts vacant in respect of Associate Professor(total sanctioned strength of 71) and 58 vacancies(total sanctioned strength of141 ). The college has 639 staff nurses and 219 Group-D employees(out of a sanctioned strength
of 651 and 353 respectively).
