Health services in Orissa is not much developed one.
The state being one among the poor states of India and
has not progressed much in the health service sector.
But after globalization and economic liberalization as the state has
started luring the investors and people from different
corner of world so the financial statuses of the people
have also started changing. Health services in this state
also have started improving.
What is your view about it ?

The govt has started the popular "JANAOUSADHI " fascility in dist. hospitals.
Here some of the medicines are avilable in cheaper cost than medicine store.
Are all the citigens are getting this fascility easily ?
Is there any corruption or not ?

In the state previously there were only three big Government hospitals .
they were Sriramchandra Bhanja Medical college Cuttack, Maharaja Krishnachandra Gajapati Medical College, Berhampur, and vira surendra sae medical college, Burla.
Previously there was not any better treatment facility in the state except these hospitals.
but now a number of Private medicals have also gone established at the prominent cities of the state. They have already developed a trend of providing the patients of the state a better health care service at a cheaper and better price.
The prominent Private hospitals of Orissa are the Vivekananda hospital. The Ayush Hospital, sum hospital, Kalinga hospital, Hitech medical.
Similarly many new medical colleges also have emerged in the state to create new doctors according to the needs of the hours.
They are KIIMs, Ghanashyama Hemalata Medical College, Hitech medical college.
Apart from these there is also the facility of teaching BDS in the SCB medical college of Cuttack.
Similarly Ther government is also planning to establish some new medical colleges in the state. There is also the plan from central government to establish a branch of AIIMS.
Similarly Government of Orissa is also with the plan of establishing a medical college at Bolangir.
The state government is also promoting research and development works in homeopathy and Ayurvedic medicines.
The health conscious in the state within the last 10 years have also increased a lot. health services have improved so much that the health services even at the district level are also at a better position.
Health services in Orissa is developing slowly and very soon it will reach at a much better level also.

The orissa medical department is distributing the DEC tablets for the eradication of FILARIA.
In our area(parts of DKL),we haven't get the medicine this year and last year also.
The health workers of orissa govt. are neglecting in their duties.

I'm from Bhadrakh.We also haven't got the DEC tablets this year.
The govt'is advertising that each and every person should take the tablet at a time.So that, we can eradicate the FILARIA effectively,but their health workers are not properly doing their duties.

Hi, I think it is an older post. AIIMS has been established here in Bhubaneswar. From last one or two years, AIIMS has also started its services.
