Xavier Institute of Management, Bhubaneswar (XIMB), in association with Sri Sri University, starts the Sri Sri University Seminar Series on 15th August, 2010, with a seminar on ‘Higher Education at Cross Roads - The New Evolutionary Model’ by Dr Bala Balachandran. The seminar series primarily addresses the need to develop new business school models that account for the leaps taken by human intelligence and capability. The hour and a half seminar will be followed by a Q&A session addressed by Dr Balachandran and other panelists.
Dr Balachandran, who was awarded the Padmashri in 2001 for his outstanding contribution to literature and education, has been teaching Accounting Information Systems and Decision Sciences at Northwestern University’s Kellogg School of Management since 1973. He is also the founding director of Great Lakes, one of the finest institutes in India offering an executive MBA. Presently he is working on his new project, the Mumbai Business School and the Kolkata Business School, which starts their first batch this year. His plans for these new b-schools come with a vision. He wants these to be known as institutions that have a unique experience – not to be duplicated by others.
Dr Balachandran also serves as a member on the board of Governors of the Sri Sri University.

Thus, the Sri Sri University is only a natural extension of the phenomenon into the realms of higher education.
