Petrol price hiked by Rs 2 per litre (excluding VAT), due to devaluation of rupee against US dollar.
It will be effective from today midnight . It is the 2nd increase in rates in June, as devaluation of rupee against US dollar made imports costlier. The actual increase for consumers will be higher. In Mumbai, petrol price has been increased by Rs 2.52 to Rs 74.60, in Kolkata Rs 73.79 per litre. In Chennai, it is Rs 69.39. In Bhubaneswar todays petrol price is Rs 65.26/lit .

Re: Petrol price hiked by Rs 2 per litre from today midnight
It will affect mostly the lower and upper middle class. BJD in Odisha held a demonstration in front of the Raj Bhavan in protest against the hike in the price of petrol by rupees two on Sunday. The protesters demanded immediate withdrawal of the hiked price. The Communist Party of India (CPI) also staged a demonstration against this. I think it will be impossible to withdraw the hiked price in near future. What is your opinion about it?
