Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) is a district level body created under the ITD (Innovations in Technology Dissemination) component for pilot testing of Agricultural extension reforms. This is an autonomous institution with participation of all the key stakeholders in the district involved in agricultural activities for sustainable agricultural development. One of the first tasks of ATMA is to facilitate the preparation of Strategic Research and Extension (SREP) plan of the district. In Sardarkrushinagar Dantiwada Agricultural University , Agricultural Technology Management Agency project has been operative in two districts namely, Sabarkantha and Kutchh since 2005-2006. Krishi Vigyan Kendra in both the districts is the nodal agency with Programme Coordinator as Project Director of Agricultural Technology Management Agency. In both the districts, the SREP has been prepared for implementation through Participatory Rural Appraisal (PRA) involving all the stakeholders and farmers. Agricultural Technology Management Agency has established linkages with all the development departments, research organizations, NGOs and agencies associated with agricultural development in the district with substantial representation of farmer organizations (APMC, Taluka Purchase & Sales Union), research and extension units within the districts such as ZRS, FTC., Department of Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Fisheries, Co operation. District Rural Development Agency Tribal Sub-plan, Marketing etc. are constituent members. As per the guidelines of Government of India, the Agricultural Technology Management Agency in the both the district has been registered. Governing Board (GB) and a Management Committee (MC) are supporting Agricultural Technology Management Agency. Under each Agricultural Technology Management Agency, taluka level Farm Information and Advisory Centers (FIACs) have been created which are operated by a Taluka Technology Team (TTT) of technical advisers and a farmer Advisory Committee (FAC), a group exclusively of farmers
