In a what appears to be a very rare incidence one boy reading in class fifth denied to sign a legal document and after much persuasion agreed that he does not know writing his own name. Now that may sound unbelievable but he is a regular at school, showed his school attendance.

Is it mandatory that Odisha news should be meaningless and just for cheap publicity? I see another article on the mentioned site. It says "a new-born baby talked and asked people with only son to go to Siva temple etc..."

There were more than three hundred news articles on the same site that you viewed than why are u discussing about only two news articles??? It is because this is human psychology. We like to read things which causes our inner senses to fight with itself and you subconsciously read only the two you are discussing, while there are nine more categories of news on the same site with about three hundred articles.
Another thing, what do you mean by meaningless. Do you think a mother of one child who travels as long as ten kilometers at dark of night to light a lamp in front of the Lord Shiva's temple meaningless. May that be due to a rumor, but do you think all the people who visited the temples were rumor mongors? No, they were simple people like you and me and they went to the temple to show their gratitude to the lords for having blessed them with a child of their wish. Is not it a news? A class fifth student who studies in a school attends all the classes and yet is unable to write his own name, do not you think this is a news? You are paying taxes every year and the money is spent on educating your fellow countrymen, do not you think it is your responsibility to see that which way your money is being spent by the government and what the schools are imparting to the students in the name of education??? Is not it news???
You have not seen the whole site, I presume since you are mentioning only about two articles, but dear friend there are nearly about three hundred news articles from education, healthcare, sports, travel, entertainment, crime etc. Please go through that.
As far as cheap publicity is concerned let me tell you, this site is being run by me and I work not less than four hours extra every night to sleep late at about 2-3 AM for keeping news on this site and do you know I am not asking you a pie to show you the news, as this is one of my noble endeavours at promoting my mother tongue in non-odia speaking regions. Of course not the only one, as my first project Aahwaan is well accepted and is running with out any financial assistance for more than four years and I am not dying for cheap publicity here, else this whole forum would have been flooded by my messages only.

Don't take it personal sir. The two news were featured on the front page and after reading those two I did not feel like reading the others. This type of news are meant for people who only rely on local newspapers for news items. you can call it item-news. People who use internet for news do not read such news. just my CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM.

Please do not mind my answering to your thread rather rudely, but dear friend i am very much obsessed with the work I am doing and believe me when I am doing something single handedly while cutting my monthly salary for doing all this after having numerous fights with my family for being madly involved in doing all this, I really do not like to be tamed.
ODIA and ODISHA mean a lot to me and I am very proud for being born in a state like ODISHA. Although many people do not feel so, but the very essence of the soil and soul of this land mesmerizes me like many a thousand believers across the globe. I am working for them to let them be bound with us.
No offenses what so ever, but I am not a professional reporter neither I have sense or knowledge f news. I am posting things which I feel is interesting to read and also those which one much read. Internet gives us immense pleasure of doing what ever we can. You can find thousands of people hosting websites and presenting news, and I can claim not more than ten percent are real reporters. Ask someone to show his credentials. I am sure those who are claiming that they have many years of experience as reporters are probably quacks and or are somehow related to some news man and say so.
You are defintely right that we are always carried by what is seen above and we do not care to see what is deep within. I have changed certain things on my website and now you can view the site although the news has been changed the essence very much remains the same.... ODIA.
